Government funding covers the basic cost of early education and care but does not cover food or consumables.
All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 universal funded hours per week during term time starting the term after their third birthday.
Children of eligible working families are entitled to 30 hours per week during term time starting the term after a child turns 9 months. For 3 and 4 year olds this means 15 additional hours on top of the Universal hours (giving a total of 30 hours).
Some two year olds are eligible for 15 hours per week funded childcare if families are receiving certain support.

- Funding can be used over 38 weeks during term time or spread over 52 weeks
- We do not place any restrictions on the minimum or maximum number of funded hours which can be used per day or per week*
- Funded hours can be amended during the term, provided the final deadline for claiming from the council has not passed and we are able to accommodate the revised hours.
*there are some government limitations to how funding can be used which we must comply with - please ask for more details
